Pinterest Pin Friday – Vintage photos of Beekeeping

I am in love with black and white photos, especially old ones. So while searching (wasting time) on Pinterest I came across some old black and white images of beekeepers. Check them out.

On the Pinterest pin is says this picture is from 1937 (I am not too convinced) but the object in his mouth is the smoker and he is urging a swarm into the skep Pinterest link

Not much has changed, the bee boxes look almost the same. Etsy site for the 1860’s print.

The original caption of this 1940 photo says: “Donald Gill, Cache County, Utah beekeeper needed bees, sugar and equipment to weather a series of bad seasons caused by weather conditions. A Farm Security Administration rehabilitation loan put him on his feet again.”
