Honey Lotion Bars by Luckey Bee
How to make your own lotion bars
These lotion bars are very easy to make, smell wonderful, and are great for moisturizing your face or hands. I personally use one after I wash my face and my skin is warm for the bar to melt easily into my skin. I may look a little shiny for a bit, but it absorbs nicely into my skin within a few minutes.
What you will need:
2 ounces beeswax
2 ounces shea or cocoa butter or a combination of both
2 ounces or coconut oil, or almond oil
1 ½ Tablespoons of honey
Essential oils of your liking. My favorites are orange and vanilla
Silicone pans
Put your first 3 ingredients into a double boiler, or use a glass bowl over a saucepan of boiling water. Melt all the ingredients and stir until combined.
Remove from the heat and then add honey and essential oils. I will combine these with a whisk. If the honey is not well incorporated it tends to separate and leave the lotion bars really sticky.
Pour all the melted ingredients into the silicone molds and allow cooling and setting up for 8 hours.
Remove from the molds and rub on warmed skin.
